This list is a bunch of anime that don't get talked about alot (at least not that I have heard). Although there are some popular anime that I like more than any of these on the list, for example Baccano! and Ouran High School Host Club. I find that alot of people have seen them or plan on watching them. I personally have watched alot of well known anime and find looking for new good anime can be a little tough. I hope if you are interested in some different anime you might find something interesting on this list.
10.Mushishi - This beautiful anime is a very calming show. The show is very episodic and follows one man who helps people who have issues involving supernatural beings called mushi. Unlike many supernatural anime, this one is very nonviolent and the audience does not know anything about the supernatural beings. The main reason I like this show is that it is intriguing and I can learn what is going on along with the characters instead of just waiting for the characters to figure it out.
9.I my me Strawberry Eggs - This is a 90s upbeat show about a battle of the genders. A male teacher dresses in drag to prove to a stubborn principle that men are just as good at teaching as women. Hilarity ensues. I love the awkward moments in this series and all of the odd situations all of the characters get into.
8.Princess Tutu :bademoticon: - This story may sound obnoxiously girly, but I found it to have so really intense themes. This show is about the story within the story. It talks about how different characters fit into their roles, or SHOULD fit into their roles. I found that the villian himself is quite disturbing in his diabolical plans involving the love-able main characters. I am partly bias to this show because I like ballet stories having a place in main stream media, stories like Swan Lake and Nutcracker aren't always understood fully (Especially beyond the fact that they have a lot of dancing in them).
7.Sound of the Sky - I found this show very interesting. Unlike most slice of life stories involve a high school, this one takes place in a small platoon overlooking the border of an enemy country. This creates much more interesting plot points, and avoids many of the usual tropes as well as making the story much more unpredictable.
6.Eden of the East - This show was pretty ridiculous. It revolves around the mysterious past of the main character. As the show slowly unveils itself the main characters past motives become more and more questionable. It is hard to say too much about this show without spoiling in it, but if you are interested in mystery at all you should check this show out.
5.Darker Than Black - This show was my introduction to how epic anime can be. It put together everything I wanted to see in anime. It is dark, has epic fight scenes, great comedy, and a badass main character. I could go on forever about everything good about this series but I only have a paragraph. The story is about a band of mercenaries who works for a mysterious organization, and the police officers going after the mercenaries, and all of the characters that get into the way of the mysterious organization, the police or the mercenaries. In the show there are many people that have supernatural powers inherited by a place called Hell's Gate. The powers each have a price to them. This show digs deep into thought provoking themes and ideas giving the whole series a second layer to it.
4.Kino's Journey - Another mellow series a bit like Mushishi in tone. Kino's Journey is about a girl who goes from town to town on her motorcycle. Each town has some odd problem and questionable morals to it. The ideas can be rather haunting.
3.Devil May Cry - Epic show where demons are pumped with lead by Dante's two gun Ebony and Ivory. It was inspired by the video game of the same game. It has a similar tone with epic dark atmosphere, fearsome demons, epic fights, and comedy on the side.
2.Little Pet Shop of Horrors - I fell in love with this short series the second I saw episode one. It is about a mysterious shop owner that sells questionable pets that he is not liable for if or when the pet kills, eats or mutilates its owner. A detective goes after him trying to prove him guilty of the deaths of the pet owners. The atmosphere alone was enough to keep me hooked.
1.Xam'd: Lost Memories :bademoticon: - The weirdness to this anime was amazing. The characters were well put together, each one having a backstory that does them justice. The creepy weird monsters, called Xam'd are an interesting antagonist that both seem incredibly evil and somewhat sympathetic. All in all they are not the main villains of the series. The villains are multiple groups that all have their own agendas that involve the use or abuse of the Xam'd. The world building in this show was very deep having many different creatures, politics, and technology. The ending is also really ridiculous and no matter what I do I still can't quite understand what it means. If you know please tell me I WANT TO KNOW.

What stories inspired you?
In the last tag on DA I participated in, this question came up, "What stories inspired you?" At first my answer was just, "Everything" but that isn't really true. I could say that everything that I have read, watched, or listened to has played some role but that is not entirely true. There are many stories I have completely forgotten after reading, or just never impacted my writing or drawing. There are certain tropes that show up in my writing over and over again. These tropes showed up because I liked how they were used in other media that I enjoyed.
One of the tropes that always has to exist in my writing, whether I want it to
